MetaSource & OpenText Hit the One Year Mark

It’s Been One Year Since the Sale of the Dell EMC Enterprise Content Division to OpenText

January 23rd marks one year since the sale of the Dell EMC Enterprise Content Division to OpenText. While many of the faces have not changed much, other than another year of age, the relationship has developed and we are positive that this will be a huge benefit for MetaSource, our partners, and our customers.

First and foremost, investment will continue to increase in the entire product line. Captiva 7.7 will be released this month, and most recently ApplicationXtender (AX) 16.3 was released in December with an exciting product roadmap. This new version is full of slick enhancements that make AX a tool that is enterprise ready and even more valuable departmentally. Ad hoc text search, pre-rendering, single and batch document scanning, and preview thumbnails just to name a few. As for what we’ll see coming in 2018, emphasis will be centered around integrations–Integrations with other OpenText products, external integration with software like Office 365, and extending APIs to support these integrations.

OpenText has also invested in internal resources. There are now marketing resources and dollars devoted exclusively to the promotion and support of ApplicationXtender. This has already made a difference in the availability of up-to-date product information and our ability to make updated materials and content accessible to MetaSource reseller partners.

Lastly, OpenText has invested in its relationship with MetaSource. Early in 2017, MetaSource was named the only distributor for ApplicationXtender. OpenText immediately recognized the value and product knowledge that the team here at MetaSource provided with our professional services, technical support and business development strategy. And, it is this that has opened the doors for MetaSource to offer new solutions to our clients, prospective customers and reseller network.

As 2018 kicks into full gear, there is a sense of exhilaration for what’s to come in the next 12 months and beyond. It’s an exciting time to be a MetaSourcer!
