MetaSource Acquires Document Capture Expert Dataimage

MetaSource & DataImage

Salt Lake City, UT – MetaSource, the leading provider of business process management (BPM), workflow automation and compliance solutions, today announces the acquisition of Salt Lake City-based Dataimage. This acquisition adds depth to MetaSource’s business process automation (BPA) offering with Dataimage’s advanced document capture expertise and status as a Kofax Platinum Partner. Dataimage also extends MetaSource’s business process outsourcing (BPO) services with its document scanning service bureau operation.

Business Process Automation (BPA) Expertise

Founded in 1981, Dataimage is recognized as an industry-leading provider of intelligent document and data capture, and enterprise content management (ECM) solutions. Dataimage serves clients throughout the United States and Canada, with special expertise serving the state and local government, retail, and higher education markets.

Because of its depth of experience with advanced document capture software solutions, Dataimage is one of the few resellers in the world designated as a Platinum Partner by Kofax because of its experience with Kofax Capture, TotalAgility, Transformation Modules, Kapow, and Insight. Dataimage solutions include:

  • Invoice Processing
  • Case Management
  • Digital Mailroom for Government
  • Proof of Delivery
  • Purchase/Sales Order Processing
  • Records Management/Archiving
  • New Application Onboarding

Dataimage also offers ECM integration experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains), JD Edwards, Lawson, Oracle, and PeopleSoft Enterprise One software.

Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) Expertise

In addition to providing ECM software, consulting, implementation, and professional services, Dataimage also runs a service bureau for clients wanting to outsource document scanning, whether for a backfile conversion or mailroom scanning.

What This Means for Dataimage Clients

Dataimage clients will continue receiving the same superior level of support they always have, with an additional 1,200 people from the MetaSource team behind them. As a result of this larger footprint, Dataimage clients will have more BPO and document scanning depth, along with stronger workflow automation and document management offerings with OpenText ApplicationXtender (AX). Dataimage retail clients will also have the option of using MetaSource contact center services.

“We are excited to be the newest member of the MetaSource team,” said Dataimage president, Dennis Barrett. “We can now offer a more well-rounded ECM portfolio for our clients, and help fuel MetaSource’s impressive growth with our advanced document capture and business process automation solutions.”

What This Means for MetaSource Clients

MetaSource clients will benefit from a stronger depth of experience in document and data capture, by being able to leverage both Kofax and OpenText Captiva technology based on the right fit to solve their business processing problems.

“Dataimage represents a new chapter in our ECM offering with their deep Kofax experience, and their strong presence in government, higher education and retail compliments our market presence nicely,” said MetaSource CEO, Adam Östhed. “We look forward to how this acquisition will further accelerate our growth by allowing us to provide an even more comprehensive BPM portfolio of solutions for all markets.”
